| Desirability | - All in all, there is a lot to like about the boots of the divine messenger. Death ray resistance and paralyzation resistance are two very valuable intrinsics that can save the PC's life in dangerous situations. Both of these intrinsics are usually only available from amulets , thus freeing the neck slot for other valuables items like an amulet of life saving or the ankh. Additionally, they can be vital source of teleport control for champions or aspiring paragons of Order — as TPC is most commonly available from eating blink dogs, but killing blink dogs brings a significant risk of alignment drop .
Comparing the boots to other boots in the game, their defensive stats are pretty decent but not quite as amazing as those of eternium boots that are dropped by chaos warriors or chaos knights on high DLs. Also, the main boots of choice for many PCs are seven league boots for the excellent advantage they bring. Nonetheless, the boots of the divine messenger are usually still well worth at least carrying around if found due to the situational usefulness of their bonuses.
