| abstract | - The Cinnagar Interceptor is a Hoersch-Kessel Drive design heavily based on the ancient Koros Spaceworks Interceptor used by the forces of Empress Teta during the time of the Great Hyperspace War. In its heyday, the Koros Spaceworks Interceptor was a formidable starfighter capable of rendering incoming threats harmless within moments. While not the most powerful starfighter ever, the ship was quite fast for its time and often deployed in large numbers in order to overwhelm any opposition. HKD sought to emulate these traits with the Cinnagar Interceptor. The ship shares the same strange, arachnid-like design of its predecessor, which spreads four wings out, each tipped with a moderately powered laser cannon. Beneath the cockpit rests a single ion cannon, fitting for most planetary defense starfighters, which could also be fire-linked to the laser cannons for added efficiency. Unlike the Koros Spaceworks Interceptor, the Cinnagar Interceptor is moderately shielded, though its hull armor can be considered at the standard for most starfighters. Additionally, the ship boasts impressive speed both when in space, as well as in the atmosphere, due to an advanced ion engine which had been developed specifically for the Cinnagar Interceptor.
