  • Computer transcript
rdfs:comment
  • A computer transcript was a record of an incident prepared by a starship's computer. They were believed to be infallible. In 2267, one such transcript showed that Captain James T. Kirk jettisoned an ion pod containing Benjamin Finney from the USS Enterprise while the ship was still on yellow alert, not red alert as Kirk claimed. While discussing the incident with Kirk, Commodore Stone rebutted Kirk's account of it with the argument that "it's in the transcript, and computer transcripts don't lie.". It was later discovered that Finney had altered the records to frame Kirk for his "death". (TOS: "Court Martial" )
