abstract
  • Saemenkelyk (also 'Saemankelyk'), a subtly very toxic, inky-black thick liquid, extremely addictive when drunk, was eventually discovered to be the 'blood' of the Dying God. A diluted form, known as Kelyk - as well as the most concentrated forms of Saemenkelyk - were used by the Dying God's adherents to bring new people into their cult. They would trade it to taverns where it was in demand for its initially ecstatic but ultimately numbingly deadly effect. The word literally meant "blood of the Dying God" coming "from a dialect common south of God's Walk Mountains" where "saeman" meant "Dying God" and "kelyk" meant "blood".
