  • Charles Blackstone Clapcott (1867 - 12 May 1955) was a barrister, colonial judge and local politician. The son of Major Charles Clapcott, he was born in Devon. Following graduating from the University of Cambridge in 1889 he was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1892. In 1903 he was appointed to a judicial post in Egypt. He remained there until his retirement as Judge of the Native Court of Appeal in Cairo in 1923, having received the OBE in 1920.

Following graduating from the University of Cambridge in 1889 he was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1892. In 1903 he was appointed to a judicial post in Egypt. He remained there until his retirement as Judge of the Native Court of Appeal in Cairo in 1923, having received the OBE in 1920. He returned to England and took up residence in Chelsea. In 1924 he became an alderman on Chelsea Borough Council. He served three successive terms as Mayor of Chelsea in 1926-1929.
