Dort trifft er auch auf Doktor Phlox. 2154 arbeitet Antaak im Auftrag von General K'Vagh an der Erschaffung klingonischer Augments. Doch die Versuche schlagen fehl, und ein dabei versehentlich erschaffener mutagener Virus infiziert eine ganze klingonische Kolonie. Da die Klingonen keine Schwäche zeigen wollen, bitten sie nicht bei fremden Völkern um Hilfe. K'Vagh lässt, aufgrund seines guten Rufs, Doktor Phlox von der Erde aus entführen, damit dieser Antaak bei seiner Arbeit unterstützt, ein Heilmittel gegen das Virus zu finden und klingonische Augments zu züchten. Phlox ist zu Beginn von Antaaks Forschungsmethoden nicht begeistert, als er sieht, dass sogar ein infizierter Klingone für die Forschung von K'Vagh getötet wird, allerdings muss Phlox trotz allem Antaak weiterhin unterstützen. Bei seinen Forschungen stellt Phlox fest, dass die Klingonen Augment-DNS verwendet haben, und dass dadurch der mutierte Virus entstanden ist. Phlox ist allerdings nicht bereit, bei der Züchtung von klingonischen Augments zu helfen, darauf wird Phlox von K'Vagh abgeführt. (ENT: ) Phlox wird von K'Vagh gefoltert, damit er hilft, die Augments zu entwickeln, obwohl Antaak dies nicht gutheißt. Gemeinsam finden Antaak und Phlox eine Methode, ein Heilmittel gegen den Virus zu finden, ohne klingonische Augments zu erschaffen. Phlox und Antaak wollen allerdings diese Tatsache K'Vagh verschweigen. Phlox und Antaak arbeiten darauf an dem Heilmittel, allerdings übt K'Vagh weiterhin Druck aus, da er weiß, dass die Kolonie ausgelöscht wird, falls Phlox und Antaak versagen. Als Phlox ein Heilmittel findet, erklären sich Antaak und K'Vagh bereit, sich mit dem Virus infizieren zu lassen, damit Phlox das Heilmittel an ihnen testen kann. Phlox weiß allerdings, dass nur eine Probe des Heilmittels helfen kann und somit werden die anderen Versuchspersonen an dem Virus sterben. Bei den Untersuchungen stellt Phlox fest, dass K'Vagh das richtige Heilmittel erhalten hat und Antaak erkennt, dass er an diesem Virus sterben wird. Als Captain Jonathan Archer von der Enterprise (NX-01) in dem Labor auftaucht, erfährt K'Vagh die Wahrheit, dass Phlox und Antaak zwar ein Heilmittel, aber keine klingonischen Augments entwickelt haben. Währenddessen greifen die Klingonen die Kolonie an, um diese zu vernichten und die Ausbreitung zu verhindern. Archer erklärt sich bereit, sich ebenfalls mit dem Virus infizieren zu lassen, damit das Heilmittel durch seine DNS besser und schneller entwickelt wird. Phlox gelingt es, das Heilmittel zu perfektionieren und die Klingonen brechen den Angriff auf die Kolonie ab. Durch das Heilmittel wird auch Antaak behandelt, allerdings behält dieser nun ein menschliches Äußeres und wahrscheinlich ist nun auch seine militärische Karriere beendet. Trotzdem ist Antaak Phlox für seine Rettung sehr dankbar. Antaak plant nun in der plastischen Chirurgie zu arbeiten. (ENT: ) Antaak wurde von John Schuck gespielt und erhielt seine Stimme von Thomas „Tommi“ Piper.

In 2154, Antaak met Phlox when the Denobulan doctor was captured and forced to assist in finding a cure for a mutagenic virus that was spreading through the Klingon Empire. This was caused by the Klingons attempting to create Klingon Augments. The problem was that General K'Vagh also wanted an Augment developed. K'Vagh gave Antaak and Phlox five days to find a cure. Antaak tried to convince Phlox to help him create an Augment to appease the General and Klingon High Council, so that they could give them more time to find a cure. Phlox refused. Later after K'Vagh had Phlox beaten, Antaak nursed his injuries. He also discovered that Phlox might have found a cure for the Klingon augment virus. They could stop the genetic effects of the virus in the early stages, removing the deadly effects of the virus. There would be changes in the affected Klingons' appearances, but there would be no special power developments, such as enhanced strength and speed. Antaak would assist Phlox in curing the virus, but let K'Vagh believe that they were also developing an augment. Antaak allowed himself to be infected with the virus in order to discover which strain of the virus held the cure. An anti-virus was developed and the plague was stopped. However, the Empire - including Antaak – was forever changed when he and Phlox were unable to stop the virus' removal of Klingon cranial ridges. With his military career over, Antaak decided to go into a new profession: cranial reconstruction. (ENT: "Affliction", "Divergence") Antaak was played by John Schuck. Shuck enjoyed portraying Antaak. In retrospect, he stated, "It was fun to play the character across two episodes." [1] In the final draft script of "Affliction", Antaak was referred to as "middle-aged" and was further described thus; "Unlike the Klingon warriors we're accustomed to seeing, Antaak is shorter, less imposing... a thinker, not a fighter." In "Losses", the final installment of the IDW Comics Star Trek: Klingons - Blood Will Tell series, a train in the First City makes a stop in Antaak Square.
