This causes much distress on the still-living victims part, with the most usual cries being "WTF" or "BULLSHIT", or even "OMFG, AIMBOTTER ***** **** ***** ****", and many other obsinetes. Though the host, now know as an "aimbotter", gains the advantage of instantainious accuracy; severel side effects occur:
- An aimbot is a multiplayer cheat which causes the cheating player to automatically center the opponent on the screen. Aimbots are considered unfair, as they enhance player aim abilities through an automated means to a level of accuracy that is not humanly executable. Also, they may provide means to locate opponents that are not normally visible (because the cheating player is able to automatically face the opponent, regardless of walls separating them or distance from one another).
- Aimbot is a hack/cheat that is used to aim at players/NPC's. Aimbots mostly always aim at the Head, but some Multihacks allow the aimbot to aim at any other body parts. There are the three most used types of Aimbot used in Garry's Mod.

* Legit Aimbot: a variant of Silent or Normal aimbot that doesn't aim until the crosshair is close enough to the player.

Implementation of aimbots usually involves a replacement Doom executable file or a TSR program. Detection of involves either analysis of the recording file (.lmp), or visual observation.
