The main purpose of Planwana, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers. Planwana comes with the ability Overgrow, which increases the power of Grass-type moves used by the Pokémon by 50% once the Pokémon has less than one-third of its maximum HP. Upon reaching level 16, this Pokémon will evolve into Basileef, where he will gain the secondary Rock type. It is the grass starter for the Hayash region.
