Skotia held a deep-seeded rivalry with Darth Zash, and by extension he held vast distaste for her chosen apprentice, a Sith inquisitor whose gender, name and even race have been lost to the annals of time. However, Zash formulated a plan utilizing her apprentice that allowed her to assassinate Skotia in a manner that would not put her in direct violation of then-current Sith law as well as allowing her to rise to Skotia's rank instead. Because Skotia was more than 50% cyborg, Zash sent her apprentice to obtain items that would both eliminate his bodyguard's loyalty to him as well as vastly weaken him by damaging his implants. The apprentice proceeded to strike him down. Before his death, he warned the apprentice that Zash would try to have him killed, as well.
