  • Foxtuft sighed, staring at the crumbling, decaying flowers wondering if the drought would loosen it's cruel grip on the forest. He looked at his apprentice, Dewpaw, wondering if she was thinking the same thing. Deciding he should say something he opened his mouth, about to talk, but Skypaw beat him to it. "Will the drought ever stop?" she asked curiosity glinting in her eyes. Foxtuft replied calmly "If it does it will be a miracle!" "We need a miracle." she mumbled, looking around for prey. As he pounced he felt relieved that Thunderclan had at least some prey, even if it was just a pitiful mouse.

Foxtuft was surprised at his apprentices negative tone, she was always so positive. But I guess the drought makes every cat grumpy. He thought bitterly, remembering his mother snapping at his sister for the littlest things. Then Foxtuft smelled mouse, he got into a hunters crouch and crawled slowly towards his prey, keeping his weight on his haunches. As he pounced he felt relieved that Thunderclan had at least some prey, even if it was just a pitiful mouse. Signaling to Skypaw it was time to head back to camp, he lifted his head proudly and trotted towards the ravine, hoping the drought would end soon. But one thought kept nagging at his mind. What if the drought doesn't go, what will happen to the clans?
