Synopsis | - When Victor Adams, a colleague of Dr. Thirteen recovers the frozen remains of Frankenstein's Monster, he becomes determined to revive the creature. Even when the university he works for fires him for his proposed plan, Adams decides to continue with the project on his own.
When his wife calls in Dr. Thirteen and his wife Marie, the two arrive just as Adams has used a laser device to revive the monster. Marie Thirteen walks in just as the device that is reviving the Spawn of Frankenstein overloads killing Victor. The out of control ray trains on her and knocks her out. Entering the room himself, Dr. Thirteen assumes that the Spawn of Frankenstein is responsible for Marie's injuries.
When the roof begins to collapse, the Spawn of Frankenstein protects Dr. Thirteen and Marie from injury allowing them to escape. Taking Marie to a hospital, he learns that she is in a coma and vows to destroy the Spawn of Frankenstein for all that he believes it's done. This story is continued next issue...
- In their quest to end the terror of the Dark Circle, the Phantom Stranger and Cassandra Craft end up in Paris. The city has been terrorized by the appearance of Quasimodo and the Phantom of the Opera. While attending the opera, the "Phantom" captures Cassandra. Going after the "Phantom", the Phantom Stranger learns that it's really his old foe Tannarak. Being crippled by Tannarak's mystical organ, Phantom Stranger convinces Tannarak to join forces with him when he tells him that the Dark Circle would not want competition and that Tannarak's quest for immortality would stand in their way.
With Tannarak's help, the Phantom Stranger stops Quasimodo's attempt to create a Pillar of Souls. During the course of the fight Quasi falls off the building they are fighting on and literally breaks apart when he hits the ground. Destroying Quasi's air ship, the Phantom Stranger, Cassandra, and Tannarak agree to work together to eliminate the Dark Circle.
