  • Basrin, born Farlan, was a Selonian male born on Selonia in 53 BBY. He stood 2.1 meters tall and massed 60 kilograms. Basrin had blue eyes, black skin, and brown fur with white ventral fur. He ran away from the den when he was eleven because his parents would not allow him to fulfill his dream: to become a bodyguard. Basrin became Borga the Hutt's personal bodyguard. Basrin once saved Borga from assassination by Black Sun agent Perilous Pel Pariyer. This earned him the eternal enmity of Pariyer and Pariyer's Black Sun masters, including a L'g'c vigo. In 34 BBY, he and Odogoth, on Borga's orders, freed Gupa and Deriac from jail; Deriac partnered up with them on future hunts, and Basrin continued to protect Borga. In 28 BBY, Odogoth, Deriac, and Basrin were reunited on Lasat Station. They accidentally stumbled upon Sith secrets, and Odogoth received an alchemy-message code which caused him to mutate into a giant fish (kept for a while in a tank by Ta'uw'ishye) and, eventually, a droid starfighter. He was captured by a Dark Jedi scientist in the pay of Darth Tyranus, but Basrin and Deriac rescued him from a star train with the help of Yoda and Bunting. Basrin managed to kill the Dark Jedi with a shot to the head. In his combat training, Basrin learned how to use weapons such as Gaffi sticks and Lightersabers. Basrin was an accomplished starship wright who also dabbled in vehicle design, medicine, architecture, and engineering. He was fluent in many languages such as Basic, Old Correllian, Er'kit, Sullustese, Huttese, Selonian. Yoda, Basrin, and Deriac took Odogoth to Korriban. There they discovered a Sith holocron about alchemy, which they took to Ta'uw'ishye on Lasat Station. Ta'uw'ishye returned Odogoth to his Gungan form. In 26 BBY, Deriac's theft of Trade Federation profits led the Federation to put bounties on the heads of Deriac, Basrin, and Odogoth, forcing them into hiding on Lasat Station. In 15 BBY, Basrin joined Mama's Resistance. The following year, he was captured and enslaved by Wilhuff Tarkin. He managed to escape after locking Tarkin in an outhouse on Eriadu. Over the years Basrin accumulated many unique items, such as a library card, a fake ID, a Flash speeder, a baby Kaadu, two Alderaanian Color Catchers, and an astromech named R2-K2. Basrin eventually retired to fish in New Temple. Basrin owned a PB-950 patrol boat. It had a class .8 hyperdrive (with a class 3 backup) and additional weapons, including two forward ion missile tubes and one aft proton torpedo launcher. It was equipped with its own refresher, which the Pepe crew believed was an oracle. The entry was guarded by a stun panel.
