Once released shinobi applies Shape Transformation to the psychic energy to mold the psychic energy into the shape of a weapon made purely of psychic energy. The weapon can be anything from short range like a dagger or a sword, mid-range like a sword, to long range like a bow and arrow. These weapons don't interact with the physical plane allowing it to bypass any armor no matter what. It can even phase through avatars like Susanoo. This also means it can harm shinobi who have activated techniques like the Spirit Transformation Technique. This, however, isn't the true function of the technique. Once the weapon is created the shinobi strikes at the opponent with it. When it phases through the target the shinobi the psychic energy "hacks" into the mind of the opponent to give its user access to their thoughts and memories. Shinobi use this access to use a practice similar to Shape Transformation to shape and modify any thought or memory temporarily or permanently. The weapons can also chip away at memories.
