  • Runner boots
rdfs:comment
  • These boots are not seen often, as many players prefer to wear Adamant boots, also equipable at level 40 Defence, instead of spending the time to earn 100 points in each role to buy the Runner boots. Adamant Boots lack the special set effect, but players don't have to get 100 points in each role. Additionally, if one is looking for Power boots, the rock-shell boots have higher stats and are tradeable. The Runner boots have a special bonus: by wearing the Fighter torso, Penance gloves, Penance skirt and any Penance hat with these boots they restore prayer over time.
  • The boots are part of the penance set, which restores prayer over time (30 points per minute) when the full set (fighter torso, penance skirt, runner boots, penance gloves, and any penance hat) is worn. The runner boots can be upgraded to a hardened runner boots using a barbarian assault armour patch.
  • The runner boots are not often used for combat purposes because of their poor stats. Runner boots provide a small attack bonus to magic (+1) and ranged (+1) but have defence bonuses similar to that of black boots, which only require 10 defence. The boots also lack a strength bonus like that provided by climbing boots, rune boots and dragon boots. The boots are often used instead to show prestige in Barbarian Assault. Note: In OSRS, the full penance set does NOT restore prayer, as the items were given prayer restoration with the Barbarian Assault Improvements update on 19 January 2010.
