Emo je běloch, člen subkultury oslavující sladká utrpení, jež život přináší. Jsou považováni za jednu z nejpatetičtějších subkultur bělochů, protože berou sebe a jejich "neštěstí" až příliš vážně. Emo mají svou vlastní muziku, módu, argot a další úchylky v jejich zoufání, které používají, aby dokázali svou unikátnost. Odhadnuto od oka, emo pocházejí ze spokojené, příjemné a chápající rodiny střední třídy. Tohle vše je však pro emo, kteří se považují za špatně pochopené a potlačené, irelevantní. Příčina emoismu je značně debatovaná, poprvé zmíněna v 90. letech 20. století. Na Emo platí Emocuc nebo také na špatně nazývaný polymorf. Emocuc je pozoruhodná bytost, která vysává z Emo emoce. Emo který nemá emoce už pak není Emo, ale jen mo. Samotný Emocuc je jakýmsi způsobem příbuzný s Chuckem Norrisem, ale zatím to nikdo nedokázal.
