  • Lake of Lasagne Casserole 1 pkg. medium egg noodles(5 oz) 1/2 cup chopped green onion, divided 2 T. butter 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz) 1 t. salt 1/8 t. pepper 1 cup small curd cottage cheese 8 oz. sour cream 3/4 cup or 3 oz. shredded sharp cheese Cook noodles as package directs. Rinse well and set aside. Saute 1/4 cup onion in butter in large skillet until tender. Add beef and cook until lightly browned. Drain well. Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Stir well and simmer 20 minutes. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream and remaining onion. Stir well and set aside. Place noodles in lightly greased 2 1/2 quart casserole. Spoon cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Layer meat over this. Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Serves 4 to 6 This is excellent, and appeals to all ages. Source: Mrs. Mae D.
