She presented talk-based magazine programme Afternoon Live for cable channel Wire TV in the early 1990s and went on to work for both BBC Radio Leeds and Radio York. Partner of the late TV host Richard Whiteley, she published a biography after his death entitled Richard by Kathryn and donated three pairs of his spectacles to optical charity Vision Aid Overseas.
