| abstract | - Julia Hammond is a character portrayed by Kari Coleman in the ABC crime series Castle. Julia Hammond was Dr. Leeds' primary nurse, running his office and his surgical team with efficiency and professionalism. She was not, however, privy to all of her boss' work, as she discovered during the course of "A Death in the Family". Julia was stunned to learn that her recently murdered employer had apparently been doing work for the Witness Protection Program, and since his area was plastic surgery, Beckett and Castle were led to the inevitable conclusion that he had provided some vital Federal witness with a new face and identity. Julia, having worked for Dr. Leeds for a decade, felt a considerable sense of betrayal at the idea of him operating without her, although, given the circumstances, this may have been all that kept her safe from the attentions of the hitman, or rather hit-woman, the Mafia sent after the Federal witness and who killed Dr. Leeds trying to get to him.
