The city was finded shortly after the War of the Four ended, 967 years ago on the ninth anniversary of the Battle of Vraenckorr, by several groups of early Kobeyermen. Initially, the city was built atop the ruins of Heuri, and its citizens hid themselves, afraid that the Reyshi might come to root them out. But then the Storm of Storms happened, crippling Reynlenn, and allowing the Heurish to build a new city. They named it for their countless nameless gods, and for the countless monuments they pictured dotting their city. Later, when King Ristt II Doralth got it into his head that what was wrong with the Rainish Magickal Glory was the Ikish peoples, Ninety-Nine-Thousandtowers joined their side in an attempt to revive a Second Rainish Magickal Glory, along with the City of Foe-Breakers, and later Thunderstruck and Lohth. This was likely due to the cruel nature of both Mattes I Marr and his son, Mattes II Marr. Otherwise, it would be unlikely for the city to join causes with their ancient foe. Both Doralth, and Vrankarrõs Muniz, the Master of the City of Foe-Breakers, became trapped within the city. Eventually, Vrankarrõs, posessed by the Child With Many Names, betrayed his comrades, allowing Billow the Slave within the walls of Ninety-Nine-Thousandtowers. The 1st Great War left a dark stain on the city's history, and even now, the Kobeyermen say, a dark cloud looms over the city. Ninety-Ninet-Thousandtowers was the sole town of Irri, one of the three nations that fought against Reynlenn the Walled City during the War of the Four. Reynlenn cleared the city of all its inhabitants, forcing them to march east, where it is believed they would go on to found the Faith of the Nameless Child. Early Kobeyermen would go on to found Ninety-Nine-Thousandtowers over its ruins, hoping to keep the old faith rather than begin a new one.
