  • Dr. Obser Makalikin Tamis (1943-2007) was President of the Republic of Norman from his election in 2004 until his death in 2007. In February 2005 he survived an assassination attempt by a Marxist group. He wass the leader of the right-wing Normanese National Party. A former Rhodes scholar and economist, Dr. Tamis is a Buddhist and a strong advocate of retaining the UN troops in Norman, and of Saydneyan mining giant JNF's monopoly on gold deposits. In April 2007, Dr. Tamis died of a heart attack. He was succeeded by the Chairman of the Parliament, Adaran Yato.
