Guzma growled and cocked his fist back but Zachariah walked off, smirking at him over his shoulder " you're not worth any more of my time." He walked out to where his private jet was waiting for him. Aether workers were busy making sure it was good to go. He stopped when he saw a blonde woman hurrying towards him " oh there you are Zachariah! Are you ready to go?" Zachariah nodded " I am Lady Lusamine. Is my pilot competent?" Lusamine nodded " he's the best pilot here. I wouldn't assign anyone else. Oh but. . . " she said frowning " I am going to miss you Zachariah! It seems like just yesterday you were a little kid running around here!"Zachariah said nothing as Lusamine rummaged through her pockets " ah here we go!" She exclaimed holding up half of an amulet. She handed it to Zachariah who coldly looked at it " what is this?" he asked coldly. " When your mother sent you here, she requested I give you that when you were ready. Your mother processes the other half." Zachariah shrugged as he placed the amulet in his pocket " so what? I'm supposed to go around showing this amulet to every woman I see? Yeah right." He shook Lusamine's hand and boarded his jet. He stopped by the cockpit " how long before we reach Hoenn?" " Roughly around three days sir" was the response. Zachariah narrowed his cold golden eyes " and I presume you loaded this aircraft with entertainment for me?" " Yes sir." Zachariah left the cockpit and walked to the back of the jet. A few moments later a voice over the intercom spoke " activating main thrusters. Prepare for take off!" It took off moments later and Zachariah watched as the region he called home for so long, the Alola region, became no more than a pebble. He watched a movie to pass the time and gave a cool glance to one of his attendants " get me a glass of the good stuff". " Sir, I don't think now is the time-" " You dare defy me?" Zachariah asked icily. " No-No sir. I'll do that right away!" The attendant said hurrying away. She came back with a glass of club soda which Zachariah took " this is the stuff from the Kalos region?" " Yes sir." Zachariah took a sip " you're dismissed" he said before going back to his movie. Three days passed as predicted before they reached Hoenn. Zachariah put his book down and looked out the window as they began to pass Hoenn overhead. An attendant walked to him " we land in half an hour sir." " Good. Once I am off this jet all of you are to return to Aether immediately. I'll be fine on my own." Zachariah eagerly awaited landing in Littleroot. He hurried out to the door once his jet had landed and stepped foot in Littleroot for the first time. He looked around and eyed the curious onlookers " so this is Hoenn huh? How quaint. Not a bad place at all." He looked as his jet once again took off and looked at the crowd " where is the Pokemon lab?" He was pointed in the direction and he nodded before walking away. He quickly walked to the Pokemon lab and opened the door. The lab was small, nothing like the labs he had spent studying Pokemon development and evolution in Aether Paradise. In front of him, he saw a man with brown hair and a brown beard wearing a lab coat. Beside him was a blonde woman with gray eyes and in front of him was two kids. One was a girl, she had long brown hair with a single fringe at the center with three edges secured by a red and white kerchief, and blue eyes with long eyelashes. She wore a red shirt with a navy blue semi-circle on it, a yellow fanny pack, white and navy gloves, a white mini skirt over dark blue cycle shorts, and black ankle socks along with red shoes with black and yellow stripes. The other child was a boy. He had black (or very dark brown) hair which is covered by a white beanie and pale skin. His eyes are brown. He wore a black headband with a red Poké Ball pattern. He sported a long-sleeved red and black sweater and baggy black trousers with yellow cuffs at the bottom. His sneakers were also red and black, matching his outfit. Around his neck he sported a gold band with a round white circle in the center, and on his hands he wore yellow and blue fingerless gloves. Zachariah walked to join the others " and who are you?" asked the man in the lab coat. Zachariah looked at him " my name is Zachariah. I have come to request a Pokemon from you." The man looked shocked for a moment but smiled " but of course! I was just about to give Brendan and May here their first Pokemon as well. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Professor Birch and my guest here is Cynthia, champion of the Sinnoh region." Zachariah nodded his greetings, missing the astonished look on Cynthia's face. Professor Birch continued to speak " all three of you may pick one Pokemon. " He picked up three Pokeballs and threw them up in the air. A Treecko, A Torchic, and a Mudkip landed in front of the soon to be trainers. "Go ahead choose." May looked at Zachariah " you should go first. You okay with that Brendan?" " Of course I am!" Zachariah smirked " you may end up regretting that but very well," he said looking at the Pokemon. Hmm, the grass type. Treecko. It looks to be fast but it has too many disadvantages. He looked at Torchic the fire type. Strong, and it's evolved forms are useful as it is dual types. However... he thought looking at the Mudkip ah yes. This one will do nicely. " I'll take the Mudkip" he said. His new Pokemon bounded towards and Zachariah nodded to it once. May and Brendan stepped forward " we've already decided," May said standing in front of Torchic, Brendan in front of Treecko. Professor Birch nodded " very fine choices. Here are your Pokedexs and Pokeballs. Go out there and forge your own paths. Who knows, maybe one of you will become a champion like Cynthia here." Cynthia gave each trainer a kind smile and the three new Pokemon trainers walked out of the Pokemon lab. Zachariah started to walk away but stopped when he heard May call out to him " hey you!" Zachariah stopped and turned around " what do you want?" May grinned " why don't you and I have a battle?" " What a wonderful idea!" came Cynthia's voice, Zachariah narrowed his eyes as he saw the champion of Sinnoh walk up to them " I'll referee if that's okay." Zachariah shrugged " seems as though my mind's been made up for me. Very well May. I accept." May grinned and help up her Pokeball " Alright! Torchic, let's go!" " Mudkip, battle formation" Zachariah said throwing his Pokeball in response. Cynthia grinned " May will have the first move. Battle begin!" " Alright, Torchic Sand Attack!" Zachariah narrowed his eyes as sand covered his Mudkip " Surround yourself with Whirlpool." Mudkip covered its body with water. May frowned " why did he do that? Use Flamethrower!" A burst of flame shot from Torchic's mouth. Zachariah didn't say anything as the attack collided with Mudkip. Once the flame hit the whirlpool, a large amount of smoke engulfed the battlefield " Take Down" Zachariah said coldly. Mudkip emerged from the smake and smashed into Torchic. The fire type Pokemon landed on its feet and May was quick to respond " Flame Bursts back to back!" "Mudkip Bide." Mudkip stood still as it took the two Flame Burst attacks from Torchic. Once it had taken the second attack it retaliated, sending the damage right back at Torchic. Torchic flew back but landed on its feet again " alright Torchic Firespin!" Torchic let out a stream of fire that circled around Mudkip. The water type cried out in pain " counter with Whirlpool." Water surrounded Mudkip dispensing the fire surrounding it. " Use Quick Attack!" May said. Torchic hurried towards Mudkip and crashed into it. Mudkip landed on its feet and growled at Torchic " Take Down" Zachariah commanded. " Use Mirror Move!" May said. Both Pokemon ran and crashed into one another. Zachariah frowned " now that I've got you at close range, Water Gun." A stream of water burst from Mudkip's mouth and collided with Torchic. It fell on its side and struggled to get up " Multiple Water Guns back to back" Zachariah commanded.Mudkip kept on firing Water Gun after Water gun until May called Torchic back " You did great Torchic. Thanks." Cynthia grinned " Zachariah is the winner!" Zachariah called Mudkip back " you did okay I guess" he said to his Pokeball. May smiled at him " you're pretty good! I wouldn't have thought you were a beginning training at all." Zachariah nodded to her and turned his back to her but before he could take a step he heard Brendan's voice " that was quite the battle! Hey you!" Zachariah turned to face Brendan who had his Pokeball in his hand " it's my turn now!" " Really? You challenge me after my Mudkip has been weakened? Seems like a spineless tactic." Brendan looked taken aback but shrugged " I mean if you need to heal your Mudkip than do that first obviously. But once it's all healed up you and I are gonna have at it!" Zachariah narrowed his eyes at Brendan " My Mudkip doesn't need to be at full strength to deal with you." " Alright! Now let's do this!" Zachariah glanced at Cynthia " You'll referee again?" " Of course" she said with a nod. Brendan grinned " Great! Alright Treecko let's go!" " Mudkip battle formation," Zachariah said as both he and Brendan threw their Pokeballs. Both their Pokemon burst out of their Pokeballs. " Zachariah will have the first move. Battle begin!" Cynthia said. Zachariah narrowed his eyes at Brendan " Alright Mudkip Take Down." Mudkip raced for Treecko " alright Treecko use Giga Drain!" Zachariah frowned as he watched his Mudkip's energy get drained " Mudkip use Protect!" Brendan smirked " that's not going to work. Use Energy Ball!" " Bide," Zachariah said. Zachariah watched Mudkip take the Energy Ball with a Mega Drain to follow. Then Mudkip retaliated and hitting Treecko with double the damage it had inflicted on Mudkip. " Use Rock Throw" Zachariah told his tired Mudkip. " Detect!" Brendan told Treecko. Once Mudkip's attack failed Brendan attacked again " Energy Ball!" Zachariah watched as the grass attack hit his Mudkip and called his Pokemon back when he saw it wasn't moving. He glared at his Pokeball " you should be ashamed. That was pathetic." He scoffed when he saw Brendan happily petting his Treecko and walked off. He was going to get his Mudkip healed up and trained. He stopped when he heard footsteps behind him. He looked over his shoulder to see Cynthia was following him " what do you want?" She smiled " You might've won had you healed your Mudkip first. You've got good instincts and I'd like to see just how far you go. Would it be okay if I traveled with you? I could show you a few things about being a trainer." Zachariah considered her offer " I prefer my own company usually. However, I'd be a fool to deny your offer. I accept."
