Composed of X-wing starfighters, the unit was stationed in the Airam sector during the Rebellion's operations there. The squadron was assigned to the newly-built starship component factory known as Soren, where it augmented the static defenses already in place there. When the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Rage conducted its attack on Soren, the unit's starfighters attempted to drive off the Imperials. Despite being reinforced by the cruiser Crucible and its own attached squadrons, the unit was decimated by Imperial TIE fighters.
