  • The Battle of Waldragos occurred in 111 ABY when the Golden Empire conquered Waldragos and its native Fyaar in a pitched battle over several weeks. Having arrived at Waldragos, Queen Rin Sakaros contacted the Fyaar and attempted, through interpreter droids busily trying to decipher the Fyaar languages, to persuade the Fyaar to pledge their world to her Empire. The Fyaar refused, being cautiously open to trade but not actual membership. Rin gave them an ultimatum to surrender or be conquered, but the Fyaar readied themselves for battle.

The space battle for Waldragos was brief; though the Fyaar navy was relatively powerful for a world without hyperspace capability, it was still woefully underequipped to face the Royal Navy. Much of the Fyaar fleet was destroyed, with a few ships captured and commandeered by the Empire. Fighting on the surface, by contrast, dragged on for two standard months. Waldragos's cold climate made thermal scans the preferred method of detecting and isolating insurgents, but the Fyaar still knew the forests of their homeworld better than invaders ever could. Resolved not to resort to mass civilian casualties, Rin instead sent in all seventeen Massassi Cohorts, knowing her hulking servants were among the few species able to physically match the Fyaar. While she would not slaughter civilians to compel the Fyaar to surrender, Rin and her brother Tariun had no compunctions about bombarding the planet with turbolaser fire from orbit to wipe out whole rebel camps at a time. Eventually the Massassi and the rest of the Royal Army stormed and took the Fyaar capital. Pockets of resistance continued over the years, but were slowly starved out.
