| abstract | - 1944 Misses' Dress and Jacket. Dress has a button front, jewel neck bodice side and back waist darts, front slightly gathered into 1 1/2" waist band at each side. Side opening with snaps and hooks. Knee length dress skirt is knife pleated except for narrow front area, each pleat top stitched to the hip. Set in sleeves with option for short or 3/4 length sleeves. Long sleeved jacket is hip length, with no collar or lapel. Vertical darts in front at shoulder and waist shape the front, while the back has princess seams ending at armhole and vertical shoulder darts. Sleeves have elbow dart. Two Patch pockets follow the curved shape of the jacket hem up an inch or so the front waist dart. A shoulder pad pattern piece is provided for the jacket.
