| abstract | - The Jerna State Intelligence Agency (JSIA) is the intelligence agency of the Government of the Republic of Jerna. It is the branch of Government that is responsible for gathering intelligence both inside and outside the Republic and advising the Government on matters of national security. Prior to the JSIA's official founding on the 1st of October 2015, the primary intelligence-gathering body of the Republic of Jerna was the People's Armed Forces' Military Intelligence Division, however this body was found to be more suited to gathering intelligence of a military nature and thus the JSIA was created to provide intelligence on non-military matters. The JSIA is headquartered at the Jerna City Capitol Building in Jerna City however, it has offices across the country, employing approximately 3,500 people in total. In charge of the JSIA is the Director-General of the Jerna State Intelligence Agency, presently Dr. Patrick Mackenzie. The JSIA reports directly to the Minister of Defense in the Government of the Republic of Jerna, presently Charles Logan.
