Despite forming a kind of alliance with fellow contestant Slavco, Medina was the 5th contestant to be eliminated. In 2015, he was arrested for fatally stabbing a roommate with a katana. He was later released, but the investigation is still ongoing. During his hearing on March 17, 2017, Medina pleaded guilty of voluntary manslaughter in court and will have his sentence decided on March 30th with a possible restitution hearing.
