  • Allen was coached by Barbara Ann Roles. She was able to spin in both directions which is an uncommon skill for a top-level skater. She retired from amateur skating after the 1981 season, and toured with the Ice Capades for three seasons. After she returned to skating she won the World Professional Championships in 1990 and the American Open Professional Championships in 1997. Although she stopped performing after 1998, she did appear in the Salt Lake City Olympics opening and closing ceremonies in 2002.
