- Mindeb war ein Fluß in Ost-Beleriand und ein Nebenfluß des Sirion. In Ered Gorgoroth in der Nähe des Passes von Anach entsprang er. Jeder der aus den Crissaegrim kam und den Fluß befahren wollte, musste Tribut entrichten. Auf seiner Westseite lag das Land Dimbar (auch Düsterheim), auf der Ostseite das Tal von Nan Dungortheb und der Wald von Neldoreth. Auf der Höhe des Waldes von Brethil mündete der Mindeb in den Sirion. Der Mindeb war auch Teil des Gürtel Melians.
- The Mindeb was a river of Beleriand, a northern tributary to Sirion. The Mindeb began in the Ered Gorgoroth near the Pass of Anarch, and was met by a tributary coming from the Crissaegrim. It formed the boundary between Dimbar and Nan Durgotheb. It formed the western border of the forest of Neldoreth in Doriath and was part of the Girdle of Melian. According to Karen Wynn Fonstad's The Atlas of Middle-earth, the river was about fifty miles in length.
