The crew discovers a troubling new non-humanoid species of high intelligence and cunning on Draloos V, and discovers that the human populous has been robbing the planet of its resources and inadvertently harming the aliens in the process. The crew must make a dreadful choice to try and combat the angered species, or force the starvation on an already desperate human population.
