  • Fireman Beech
rdfs:comment
  • Fireman Beech was in charge of the efforts to drain the flooded cellar of the Rovers Return in the aftermath of the fire at the Mark Brittain Warehouse across the Street. The problem was so bad that water was running down the length of the Street, but once the danger to the surrounding area was sorted out, Beech told landlady Annie Walker that they had to move onto another job and would pump the remaining water, still 18 inches deep, out as soon as possible. Unsurprisingly, Annie didn't accept this but her complaints fell on deaf ears. Eventually the residents of the Street helped Annie out by draining the water using a bucket.
