  • Albert "Al" Harrington is a wacky, overly happy salesman. He is the president, CEO and owner of Al Harrington's Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubeman Emporium and Warehouse. It's a pretty stupid company, and all it does is sell those giant, inflatable, waving tubeman things that are outside of car dealership stores and stuff. He seems to be very happy about it, but really, he has clinical depression that he takes care of with emotional repression and drugs. Lots and lots of drugs. He makes a lot of cutaway gag, cameo appearances and has sort of made himself a running gag on the show.

The business specializes in sales of Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubemen. In an advertisement he speaks at an incredibly fast rate and was described by Peter Griffin in the second Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story segment "Bango Was His Name Oh" as "in-your-face, but just in that friendly-annoying way". He also makes a quick appearance in Blue Harvest as a hologram produced by R2-D2 selling "Intergalactic Proton-Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droids" under the name Darth Harrington. He also appears in "The Former Life of Brian" this time selling 'Crudely-Painted Not-So-Funny Plywood Cut Out Folk Art', which he obtained as an unwanted result of a recent lawsuit. The art includes such favorites as "Sort-of Ben & Jerry's Looking Cow' and 'Fat Woman Bending Over Tending To Her Garden In Big Polka-Dotted Bloomers". He is selling them at his 'Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube-Man' Emporium and Warehouse along with his regular stock, and wishes to get rid of them quickly as they were a "tremendous" fire hazard. In a DVD exclusive scene, Al tries out for Fox News Channel in "FOX-y Lady" with "Fear-Based Right Wing Agenda Pushing News Stories". Peter, Joe, and Quagmire trace the dirty joke to him and pay him a visit in "The Splendid Source". In "Back to the Pilot", he is referred to by name when it is revealed what the Griffins actually do during a cutaway gag. Peter says his new boss is meaner than a shifty salesman, and after that setup, Brian drinks, Peter smokes, Lois applies makeup, and Stewie, Chris and Meg text. When Lois asks if Peter has enough time to smoke, Peter says that it's an Al Harrington gag, which is known to be a long joke. He makes a cameo crowd appearances in "The Juice Is Loose" and "Tea Peter". He is also seen in the courtroom in "The Simpsons Guy". Al advertises for a date in "The Book of Joe" as a "Short but handsome, slightly hairy, newly single salesman" and attends Peter's roast in "Roasted Guy". He hosts an auction for a closed castle-themed restaurant in "The Dating Game". He is voiced by Executive Producer and writer Danny Smith.
