I was asleep, when downstairs, I heard a man yelling, my mother screaming, and things crashing and clattering. I woke up groaning, "Today is not a normal day in Brownton." I slowly walked downstairs - and saw two dead bodies. I tried not to scream. They looked so peaceful. Almost asleep.... I saw a dark shadow creeping across the floor. A man about twice my size was standing - no, towering - over me. He cackled, I yelled, and I took off like a bullet from a gun. The man flew, literally flew, after me. Pretty soon,my legs gave out, but I was still able to knock him into a coma - but his teeth were sunk in my arm. I gasped and tore for the mirror. I looked like a completely different girl - a vampire? I packed my red backpack with my cell phone, some money, and lots of ponytail holders. Then I jumped out the window and ran. I ran like never before and realized I'd cut myself in like ten different places by the time I exited my mother's nettles. Stupid nettles. Anyway, I'd been walking for about three hours before I saw a yellow house. I was so tired, so I lay on the steps and fell asleep.
