The story tells about the Hero of Time who saved the world from evil. During his later adventures, however, he found himself lost in darkness. Around this time, he met a fairy who could float in the air. This fairy sold him maps and warned him of impending dangers. The story ends by stating that on one island, the inhabitants celebrate one's 35th birthday by garbing them in a green coat and red pants, similar to Tingle himself.
