  • Archaeological research indicates that Glastieve was near to an established town that traded with Europe as early as 250 BCE. From around 55 CE, the area was controlled by the Roman Empire and was possibly inhabited by the Dumnonii. From around 600 CE to 2017 CE the land was controlled by the Kingdom of England, the Kingdom of Great Britain and the United Kingdom as farmland part of the nearby city of Exeter. In February 2017, an independence movement (called the Glastieve Planning Board) created a Cabinet and a deceleration of independence that was read out on the 23rd February to a meeting of the government, which at the time consisted of eight individuals.

abstract
Glastieve is a democratic unitary republic with a complex separation of powers. The traditionally defined legislative and judicial powers of the state are fused into a single legal entity called "the Executive", which is exercisable solely by the eight-member Cabinet of Glastieve as a single entity, with legislation seen as written permission from the Cabinet to perform certain legal functions. Legislative permission is granted to the courts to use the power of the Executive to interpret legislation (legally the word of the Executive) and to review policy, rendering the judiciary effectively independent. Elections to the Cabinet are held on a yearly basis; the last elections were held on 6 March 2017.
