  • Connie Saylor, born 6/3/1940 is a former NASCAR driver from Johnson City, TN. Married Shirley Nowlin in early 60's. Connie & Shirley have two children, Tracy~born in 68' and Tim~ born in 76'. Connie started a industrial tire and wheel company in 76' and it is still in business. He died on 2/4/1993 of cancer. Saylor ran in fifty-eight Nextel Cup events in his career. His best was an eighth in 1978 at Atlanta. He also ran four Busch Series event in his career, with a best of 11th there. Saylor was the first driver for Morgan-McClure Motorsports but ended his career driving for Ken Allen in 1988, finishing 21st at Rockingham. StatsHe was also one of the few drivers to ever substitute for Dale Earnhardt Sr. at Rockingham in the mid 80's.
