It's written in a "and then this happened and then that happened oh and this and that also happened" style. For example, his attempt to claim the godsword and the outcome of his rewarding of Thammaron are in it. It's just a list of things that happened. That is not a bad thing in itself - Gielinor pulls it off, but that's because it's written not in a summing-up-style but like an actual history book written by an actual historian and not a bored 60 year old teacher.
