  • Eldred Cubitt Sayers (c.1857 - June 1922) was a businessman and local politician active in the Ealing area. Born in Twickenham, he was the son of Eldred Sayers and Sarah née Cubitt. With his father he managed a department store in Ealing, Messrs Eldred Sayers and Son, or "Western House". He was elected to the first Ealing Borough Council in 1902, serving as a councillor or alderman until his death 20 years later. He was Mayor of Ealing in 1909-10. He was an active member of the Liberal Party as was his wife. He died at his home in Surbiton, in the Surrey suburbs of London, aged 65.
