  • The Trobriand Islands are an archipelago off the eastern coast of New Guinea. When Indiana Jones and Remy Baudouin were trying to track down the Peacock's Eye diamond after World War I, they were eventually marooned on one of the Trobriand Islands. There they met distinguished Polish anthropologist Bronislaw Malinowski whose reasoning eventually made Jones realise that he must forsake the quest for the diamond, a venture which could easily have lasted years, to pursue his dream of becoming an archaeologist. Through Malinowski, Jones learned some valuable lessons on anthropology.

It was on the Trobriand Islands that Jones and Baudouin realised that their paths went in separate directions. While Baudouin continued the search, Jones began to make his way home.
