| abstract | - The Imperial Navy Special Aerospace Combat Echelon, formerly known as Special Operations Aviation (SOA), and colloquially known as "Space" in Special Forces jargon, was a Component Special Operations Force of the Imperial Naval Special Warfare Command and the Galactic Empire Special Operations Command. It served as the principal provider of aerospace superiority and aerospace force projection for the Galactic Empire Special Operations Command, employing Navy interceptors, bombers, and gunships in anti-space, anti-orbit, anti-air, and anti-surface roles, allowing for the conduction of aerospace special operations against enemy capital ship, fighter, and surface formations. It also operated transports and gunships, clandestinely inserting Imperial Special Forces infantry, as well as resupplying them and exfiltrating them.
