  • The URF John Paul Jones, formerly the UNSC Bunker Hill (DD-231), was a warship of the UNSC Navy, and later the United Rebel Front. Laid down in 2530 at the Reyes-McLees Shipyards as the UNSC Bunker Hill, hull number DD-231, the destroyer took part in the Harvest campaign for less than a year, before the campaign was declared over, and as a result, the Bunker Hill was assigned to anti Insurrectionist operations around the planet of Victoria. The Bunker Hill soon proved to be deadly effective against the United Rebel Front's makeshift navy, destroying seven rebel ships within its first three weeks. For several more months, with the remainder of the rebel navy hidden in the nearby asteroid belt, the Bunker Hill acted in support of ground operations, including acting as the base of operations for Blue Team's raid in 2531. Several months after the raid, as well as the death of General Graves, most rebel ground operations had halted completely. The UNSC command, wanting to finish off the rebels, sent the Bunker Hill into the asteroid belt to recon the area for possible later raids. However, after several days in the field, rebel ships filled with boarders set upon the Bunker Hill. After a bitter battle, the Insurrectionists took control of the vessel. Over the next seven years, the ship worked in concert with rebel commander on Victoria, Nathaniel Wright, intercepting convoys bringing supplies to the planet in an attempt to weaken the UNSC garrison further for a coup. In 2538, as Wright planned his coup, the UNSC, seeing that both hunting the Bunker Hill, now renamed the John Paul Jones, and fighting increasing rebel activity on Victoria was diverting precious resources from the quickly worsening war against the Covenant, and withdrew from the colony. With the planet now under the control of the United Rebel Front, Wright had the John Paul Jones placed as the flagship of the rebel navy. Save for intermittent engagements against UNSC Navy scout ships, the John Paul Jones saw little space combat until 2553, when the UNSC returned to the planet. In what later became portrayed as a gallant display of heroism by the Insurrection, the John Paul Jones led the fleet in a suicidal charge against the UNSC Infinity. Although the John Paul Jones was able to score several hits on the Infinity with its MAC cannon, it did nothing to massive supership, and the destroyer was quickly destroyed by retaliatory fire from the Infinity.
