abstract
  • Dalthos Prime was the homeworld of the now-extinct Dalthos race. Before its destruction, the planet was a harsh, dark world lashed by extremes of climate and severe storms. Much of its surface was covered with broad flat plains that would suddenly be interrupted by sudden sheer mountains or canyons, legacies of the tectonic forces that had formed the world in its early days. A pair of turgid, churning seas covered just over half the planet's surface, dividing it into three roughly equal-sized continents. Due to its remote position in system, the planet was dark and cold, with harsh winters punctuated by brief summers. The gravitational effect of the world's four moons meant that storms were frequent. The Dalthos race left their mark on the world; massive, sprawling cities ate up much of the habitable land, while rampant strip-mining had devastated its mountains. Severe pollution from the planet's heavy industries had left its environment denuded, with large areas of the planet being left barren and almost uninhabitable. The supernova that destroyed Ossus also scorched Dalthos Prime, leaving it barren of all life. In the aftermath, the planet was reduced to an expanse of dry, cracked rock and greatly reduced seas, punctuated only by the melted ruins of the massive cities that had once dominated its landscape.
