Star sprites disappear ten minutes after the star has been completely mined. A day is defined as the 24 hour period beginning at 00:00 (UTC). In addition to item rewards, a player is also granted the ability to mine an additional ore for 15 minutes, for any ore up to runite. This ability stacks with the Varrock armour, meaning players could mine up to three ores from a single rock, or four ore at once in concentrated rocks.
