  • Iron Running was a practice in which a player trained their Mining skill by repeatedly mining iron ores. Although this practice was, for the most part, discontinued (due to the trade limit), one would give away a significant portion of the ores by trading to other players, as they were mining for XP. Frequently, the miner may trade away all 28 ores for nothing simply because it's faster than clicking drop 28 times; however, some miners would request a number of noted ores in return for giving 27 unnoted ores and possibly an amount of coins. Because the profits from serving the miner is quite low compared to Air running (approximately 1000 coins worth of gain per run), it also requires a lot more running as popular iron mining sites are far from a bank.
