He graduated from the Wayne State University with a BFA in Theatre before he moved to Los Angeles in 2002. In LA he studied acting at the Margie Haber Studios and at the Judith Weston Studios. Beside supporting and guest roles in the television series Firefly (2002, with Ron Glass, Gary Werntz, John Thaddeus, and Ron Ostrow), The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Dragnet (2003, with Christina Pickles, Erick Avari, and Michael Kagan), Brannon Braga's Threshold (2005, with Brent Spiner, Scott MacDonald, and Charles Emmett), and Clean House (2009), Steingold served as host on the talk show That Morning Show in 2009. He was featured in the television science fiction film Locusts (2005, with Natalia Nogulich, Mike Gomez, and Earl Maddox) and in the television drama Silver Bells (2005, with David Doty) and lent his voice to the comedy Universal Remote (2007, with D.C. Douglas, Carlos Ferro, and Robert Picardo).
