  • Athair meditates, thinking about a passage in the Tome of Prophecies, when he is interrupted by one of his disciples. He asks if the Ancient Walkers called him away; Athair answers that the Day of Fury will soon be at hand and the Lost Tribe must continue its pilgrimage. Athair explains that his time is nearly at an end and the disciple, Yanar, will soon become the leader of the tribe. Yanar doubts that he could do such a thing, but explains that "the other" will soon arrive to assist Yanar on his journey. As the tribe moves on, Athair wishes his own son, Sabre, could have been more like Yanar. The Walkers beckon Athair to take action and seek "the other" to guide Yanar on his pilgrimage.

Meanwhile, Lara-Le finishes her prayers at the Aurorium and is surprised to find Knuckles waiting for her. While he walks his mother home, she asks him why he didn't join her within the Aurorium. They discuss how his father raised him to be a Guardian, separate from the culture of Echidnaopolis. Lara-Le disapproves, upset that Knuckles has never been allowed to live a normal life. As they enter her home, they're shocked to find Athair waiting for them. At the Echidna Security Team HQ, Julie-Su is being interrogated by Constable Remington involving her alliance with the Dark Legion. She defends her actions by pointing out that she kept Kragok from escaping, but Remington has several eye witness testimonies of her terrorist actions. She tells him to ask Knuckles to vouch for her, but Remington explains that Knuckles doesn't remember much from his encounter with Enerjak. Julie-Su doesn't know what else to say and is left in the prison as Remington leaves. Lara-Le and Athair greet each other warmly, but Knuckles isn't thrilled to see his ancestor again. Lara-Le demands that he apologizes to his great grandfather and, reluctantly, he does. Athair tells them that he needs Knuckles to fulfill a prophecy and teleports him away. Lara-Le is left alone in her home, crestfallen as her son is taken away from her yet again. Meanwhile, Remington's secretary Teri-Lu brings him a snack and some paperwork. As she leaves, Archimedes appears and asks Remington if he knows where Knuckles has gone. Before Archimedes leaves, Remington asks him what he knows about Julie-Su. Athair and Knuckles arrive in the eastern hemisphere of Mobius. Knuckles is surprised to see echidnas outside of the Floating Island, prompting Athair to explain the history of the Lost Tribe. Six hundred years ago, when Jordann and Kayla-La discovered that the White Comet was on a collision course with Echidnaopolis, a man named Arakkis objected to leaving Downunda during the High Council's debate on how to deal with the oncoming disaster. The Council sided with Kayla-La's proposal to move Echidnaopolis and Arakkis made a counter-proposal: anyone that wished to follow him could do so instead of being forced to leave the surface of Mobius. The followers of Arakkis became the Lost Tribe, searching for a new home for generations, often forced to move by previous settlers or Overlanders wishing to destroy them. Eventually the tribe abandoned technology and was given the protection of the Ancient Walkers. On the Floating Island, the Chaotix are arguing in a restaurant about Julie-Su's incarceration when Charmy appears, telling the group that Constable Remington needs their assistance. Back on Mobius' surface, Athair senses that the Day of Fury is at hand. Yanar commands the tribe members to head for higher ground as the area is struck by an earthquake, causing lava to emerge from the ground. Knuckles glides down and saves a falling tribesman while Athair explains that there's nowhere safe to turn to left on the planet. Thunderstorms rage over Echidnaopolis, strong winds sweep Mobotropolis, heavy rain pours while Sonic and Tails take refuge in a cave, and snow falls heavy in Knothole. Athair explains that the environment is trying to readjust itself. Knuckles asks how people survived the last Day of Fury. Athair tells him that most didn't.
