  • Bajoran-Cardassian Treaty
rdfs:comment
  • Even with the new Treaty, the Bajorans were still suspicious of the Cardassians and upgraded the orbital sensor platforms at Prophet's Landing, the closest Bajoran colony to Cardassian space. (DS9: "Heart of Stone") The Obsidian Order was strongly opposed to the Treaty and sent an operative, Dejar, to sabotage a combined Federation-Bajoran-Cardassian effort to place a subspace relay station in the Gamma Quadrant. The Vedek Assembly as a whole endorsed the treaty, though at least one individual Vedek, Yarka, opposed it and was defrocked for his opposition. (DS9: "Destiny")
  • The Bajoran-Cardassian Treaty was a treaty signed by the Third Republic of Bajor and the Cardassian Union in 2371. The treaty dealt with issues over the Occupation of Bajor. The treaty was spearheaded by Vedek Bareil Antos, who negotiated with Legate Turrel. When Bareil was critically injured on his way to Deep Space 9, Kai Winn Adami took his place at the negotiating table. Bareil was able to guide Kai Winn during the negotiations and the treaty was signed, although Bareil died shortly after. The treaty sent political shockwaves across the Alpha Quadrant. (DS9 episode: "Life Support")

(DS9 episode: "Life Support") In 2372, the Bajoran government was unwilling to recognize Ro Laren's work with Kira Nerys in a black market investigation due to Ro's membership in the Maquis. Keree Lawr felt that doing so with anger the Cardassians and risk the treaty. (DS9 novel: Wrath of the Prophets)

The Vedek Assembly as a whole endorsed the treaty, though at least one individual Vedek, Yarka, opposed it and was defrocked for his opposition. (DS9: "Destiny") In a message Enabran Tain sent to the Cardassian government, he mentioned the treaty, alongside the Federation-Cardassian Treaty, as the factors that blinded the Cardassian government to the danger of the Dominion. (DS9: "The Die is Cast") In 2372, Kira Nerys mentioned the treaty to Heler, to explain why she and Dukat cooperated in rescuing prisoners from Dozaria. (DS9: "Indiscretion") It is unclear whether or not the Bajoran-Cardassian Treaty became void when Cardassia allied itself with the Dominion in DS9: "By Inferno's Light".
