  • Construction of the DLR was a key component in the regeneration of large parts of the London Docklands from disused industrial land into valuable commercial and residential districts. The first part opened in 1987 serving 15 stations, using redundant railway infrastructure and new construction. The network has been extended and the capacity of its trains expanded so that now nearly 70 million journeys made every year. Stations are in the City of London and the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich and Lewisham with the majority of the network north of the River Thames. __TOC__
  • This list is for stations on the Docklands Light Railway. The opening dates are written from the perspective of the DLR, not other trains that use the station. Based on the Wikipedia page [1]. There are 49 stations currently, with 3 (Bank, Island Gardens and Cutty Sark) being underground. The majority of stations are in zone 2, though zones 3 and 1 are also served. Poplar is the hub of the DLR with it being the only station with trains to every destination. The most recent stations to open is the Stratford International Station branch following the old North London Line route in part, to Poplar Station.
