CR: 15 “Suffer the little creatures, for they may yet rise up and beat you senseless…” Crush (ex): This special attack allows Shadow Tail to leap high, as a standard action, using its entire body to crush opponents. This ability only works on medium or smaller opponents. The crush attack affects as many creatures as can fit under Shadow Tail’s body. Creatures in the affected area must succeed on a Reflex save (DC ), or be pinned, automatically taking bludgeoning damage during the next round unless Shadow Tail moves off them. If Shadow Tail chooses to maintain the pin, treat it as a normal grapple attack. Pinned opponents take damage from a crush attack each round if they don’t escape. Shadow Tail’s crush deals 2d8+15 points of damage. Improved Grab (ex): To use this ability, Shadow Tail must hit with both claw attacks. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. Rend (ex): If Shadow Tail wins a grapple check after a successful pair of claw attacks, it establishes a hold, latching onto the opponent’s body and tearing the flesh. This attack automatically deals 2d6+5 points of damage. Death Throes (ex): When Shadow Tail is defeated, its mutated body structure breaks down into the squirrels that formed it, releasing a T-Virus Squirrel Mob centered where it died. Great Toughness (ex): Shadow Tail receives an additional 2 hit points per hit dice, due to the inexplicable mutative quality of the T-Virus. Skills: Shadow Tail gains a +4 racial bonus to Climb, Hide, Jump, and Move Silently checks. Shadow Tail also receives and additional +4 bonus to Hide and Move Silently checks in forested areas.
