  • Matthew Dunster (born 1970) appeared in Coronation Street as Ryan Sykes, the brother of Linda Baldwin in October 2000 and then in the same role as a recurring character between February and October 2001. Matthew trained at Bretton Hall college where he graduated from a drama course with first class honours. He appeared in series such as The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Casualty before appearing in the Street and then went on to appear in Doctors, No Angels, Heartbeat and Silent Witness. In recent years he has moved to writing and directing, winning acclaim for his one-man play You Can See The Hills which opened at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester in 2008 and then moved to the Young Vic in London (of which he is an associate director). Other writing credits for the stage include You Used To, Tell Me, The Glazier and Two Clouds Over Eden. His work for radio includes the plays Depth of Field and Poor Echo and he has also directed the radio play Love and Money. His more recent work includes directing a successful series of Shakespearean plays for the Young Vic.
