  • Guards are a type of enemy in Scorch. They are green-blueskinned and wear turbans, and they are armed with curved swords and are related to the riflemen in the same realm. When Spyro gets close to them, they will jump towards him and attack with their scimitar. They can easily be defeated with charging or flaming. A total of 13 guards appear in Scorch.
  • The Guards were the zoo guards, who used flashlights to catch any animals, that are escaping. The Guards wore police-like uniforms and had short black hair. They were voiced by Corey Burton. The Guards are also seen in Shrek and Shrek 2 as the Captain of Guards minions
  • The Spielburg Guard once had a legion of horses when it was strong. * Karl * Frederick * Pierre * the Captain
  • These unnamed guards guard the Far Far Away Palace.
  • Typically comprising members of a local militia or governing body's military services, the colors and styles of their uniforms varied, denoting rank, allegiance, and combat specialization.
  • Guards are notable because they are one of the few ally organizations that help you in missions, with the Guard Walker appearing several times in missions. They are also notable for not being able to handle some of the simpler missions in the game, such as dealing with a small contingent of Imminent Storm MTs in the Sewers. This is most likely due to the massive differences in power between the Armored Core and the Muscle Tracer.
  • When destroying houses at Alalea, one may encounter 2-5 guards and a chance of encountering guard captains (Reginald, Guard Captain, Drake, Guard Captain, Jace, Guard Captain, and Arsen.) These guards wield a Colossal Cutlass. However, they do not use the Colossal Flying Slash (Colossal Cutlass's Q skill.) They have a 1/100 chance of dropping their weapon when killed. The guard captain Reginald uses dual Colossal Cutlasses but he does not drop them.
  • Guards (ガードン Gādon?) – robot pojawiający się w grze Sonic Advance 3.
  • Guards are minor characters in Mafia II, usually found within missions, but otherwise not seen around Empire Bay. They're private security hired by area businesses and not part of the Empire Bay Police Department. They wear a uniform similar to that of police officers that consists of a light blue shirt, some add a tie, striped chevron or collar insignia, a dark hat with insignia, and dark blue pants. The prison guards also add a dark jacket with a badge and belt
  • Guards are the main adversaries in the Splinter Cell series and are almost always hostile to Sam Fisher and other playable characters. They serve as obstacles to Sam's progress and can either be avoided, killed, or rendered unconscious, except during special occasions. "Guard" refers to any armed hostile, not just security guards and others who guard property for a living.
  • Guards (ガードン Gādon) sind Badniks aus Sonic Advance 3, die nur beim Bosskampf gegen Egg Jack-in-the-Box vorkommen. Sie kommen immer zu dritt vor.
  • Guards are NPCs that patrol specific areas. All guards have a very high level (240) and as such, they will always be "red" to all player characters. Guards will attack player characters that satisfy specific conditions on sight. Guards will also defend themselves against attacks by any player characters. Clan base guards and neutral guards will also attack mobs.
  • Guards are standard patrolling the area of a mission. Hired by a boss or on the same side with him, these enemies will engage the player on sight and will try to chase him/her. They can be stealth killed if they're unaware of player. Some missions require killing all guards to complete. Generaly, guards aren't as strong as the player characters. However, they can be trouble in group. Also, elite guards appear in later missions are well trained, sometime equally skilled with player's characters. Guards in Tenchu come in various types:
  • Guards are normally allies, as they protect the peace in the cities. However, some guards are corrupt, and will attack the unwary. Also, if one is caught stealing or attacking citizens, the local guards will immediately come looking for the perpetrators. However, a sufficient bribe will sometimes get a guard to look the other way. Guards are usually found patrolling castles and cities, or something else of importance. They usually have little to say, but some are hidden storehouses of information. The guards of Ultima IX were, per programming, unbeatable.
  • The elite foot guards are charged with protecting the persons of the monarch and the royal family. These troops are equipped in much the same way as line infantrymen, and carry smoothbore muskets as their primary weapons. There, however, the similarities end. Their uniforms are altogether more splendid, marking them out as a superior force, in arrogance if nothing else. This attitude can serve them well in battle, as the guard can hardly be seen to be cutting and running, no matter how hot the enemy fire. They are also expected to do a good job as garrison troops, keeping the royal family safe no matter what the locals might think or be tempted to do by some foolish revolutionary fervour.
  • Guards are the common enemies found within the Sly Cooper series. They will often work for the local boss; though in some cases, like in Episode 2 of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, or with Inspector Carmelita Fox, they may just be a force in the area that sees the Cooper Gang as an enemy. There are four types of guards in the Sly Cooper series.

  • Chosen for their brawn, guards are mindlessly loyal to their governments. They're extremely strong but generally harmless unless you break the rules.
  • They resemble big bouncers at tough bars - all brawn and no brains. If a crime is detected within a town, or Lord British's castle, each Guard will pursue thee to the boundaries of the place. Most Guards are very difficult to overcome, but rumors have been circulating that some Guards are not completely honest.

* Rooftop guards are the most common type of guard. Like their name suggests, these are the guards that are stationed on top of roofs, though they can occasionally be found on street-level. * Flashlight guards are the second most common type of guard. They can only be found patrolling the streets, and are much stronger, and therefore more dangerous, than their rooftop counterparts. * Inspector Carmelita Fox is a special flashlight guard, but has a much larger patrol range, and cannot be taken out without the use of a glitch. * Guards are the non-flashlight guards found in Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, and are functionally identical to rooftop guards.
  • The Spielburg Guard once had a legion of horses when it was strong. * Karl * Frederick * Pierre * the Captain
  • These unnamed guards guard the Far Far Away Palace.

However, they can be trouble in group. Also, elite guards appear in later missions are well trained, sometime equally skilled with player's characters. Guards in Tenchu come in various types: * Samurai: Samurai or ronin who often appear in the early missions of many Tenchu games. * Servant: A servant with a sword. Weak and slow, and only knows one or two attacks. * Swordsman: A standard, weak guard. Has only a few attack moves, and are slow. However, in later missions, some swordsman, such as Tsujigiri, are very smart, and it can take a while to kill them. * Spearman: Has more range and speed than a swordsman, but still weak. However, like the swordsman, they too have elite variations, like Komuso. * Bowman: Archers who attack with arrows in a pattern, but still can be weak and are useless up close. * Rifleman: Also a far ranged guard, they are more quicker than Bowman, but up close they are also weak. Some carry pistols instead that are useful even in close range. * Tomikichi: Excatly the same as normal swordsman, but are a bit dumber, and always release an item when they die, sometimes a hostile item. * Ashigaru: Peasant soldiers that are fully armored for battle, and can equip any weapon; some can equip more than one weapon. However, their vitality isn't very high. * Brawlers: Samurai who fight with their fists instead of weapons. They don't have alot of power or speed, but they have very high vitality. Kenpo bonze are an example. * Ninja: Strong and fast. Ninja are skilled in both combat and patroling. Their weapons are claws or a sword. * Kunoichi: Female counterpart of ninja. Though not as strong as male guards, their higher speed makes up for that. Their weapons are dual tanto or claws. * Assassin: More aggressive than ninja but less agile. These guards have various types and combat styles. The Kuroya Jonin are an example. * Yakuza: Thugs who carry small knives but can also equip spears. They are more quicker and agile than swordsman, and their vitality is decently high. * Special Guards: Guards that aren't normal enemies, and are unique to the game that they starred in. * Manji Cultist * Undead * Chibot * Tengu (天狗) Also, in Tenchu Z there are guards that appear only in temples that wear white inmate masks, have white skin, dress in a karate outfit and will make psychotic laughs and tones once in a while. Their fighting stance is a drunken like pose and they will attack with their fists and legs while shouting "Whata!" Nothing else is known about them. However, a sufficient bribe will sometimes get a guard to look the other way. Guards are usually found patrolling castles and cities, or something else of importance. They usually have little to say, but some are hidden storehouses of information. The guards of Ultima I, II and III were hard to beat (and, in Ultima II, were the only source of lockpicks), and rarely cared who started a fight, so long as the offending parties were dealt with. The often-corrupt Ultima III-era guards could be bribed to leave, even after becoming hostile. In Ultima IV, guards were weaker, but travelled in large parties; attacking them wasn't a very good idea to further the game. In Ultima V and VI, guards were also armed with crossbows, and hard to beat. The guards of Ultima VII were easy opponents, as were the ones in Ultima Underworld II. The guards of Pagan were a different breed. They were much tougher and did much more damage. Also they called Beren, which usually meant death. The guards of Ultima IX were, per programming, unbeatable.

They are also expected to do a good job as garrison troops, keeping the royal family safe no matter what the locals might think or be tempted to do by some foolish revolutionary fervour. Historically, the French Maison du Roi (literally “house of the king”) were the epitome of household troops. They provided a ceremonial guard at every state occasion, and Louis XIV picked them from candidates sent in by each regiment; inappropriate candidates brought punishment on the officers who had sent them! The Prussian “Potsdam Giants” were a quirky household guard, the product of Frederick I’s obsession with very, very tall men and military pomp. Oddly, he wasn’t a very warlike chap at all.
